the xoom 2 this new version of the android powered tablet will come in
two different versions , the Media Edition and the standard 10 inch xoom
with integrated business features. The xoom 2 will be unveiled this
month to consumers. Both tablets will have dual core 1.2 GHz processors
and be powered by android 3.2. Another feature these tablets will come
with is a splash guard coating to make them more stain resistant and
durable , which is always nice to have. Hopefully the xoom 2 will gain
more popularity then the first xoom which was released in February of
2011. If Motorola would like this to happen the new tablets are going to
have to be definitely thinner, lighter and faster than the first xoom ,
but I'm sure if you know anything about the Motorola xoom can probably
think of other things that need to be improved before the new xoom
tablets become popular. The Motorola xoom has a 1.5-megapixel camera on
the front and a 5-megapixel camera on the back(Personally I think
Motorola should of added an 8-megapixel camera to the xoom but your
opinion may differ because not everyone is going to take a picture with a
tablet so this may not be such a big deal for some). Both of the tablets
will have 1GB of ram which is the same as the first Motorola xoom , and
16GB of internal storage. These tablets will also include a new app
called motocast.which will allow users to wirelessly stream music,
photos, videos, and other content between their tablets and their
Computers. The xoom 2 is according to Motorola similar in size and shape
to the original xoom but with a more vibrant display and a brighter
display. This xoom is supposed to have more than 10 hours battery life
on one charge. The xoom 2 media edition is more focused on entertainment
than the standard xoom. The media edition will only have 6 hours of
battery life on one charge compared to the standard 10 inch xoom with
over 10 hours of battery life. This could be a disappointment and more
people may be more convinced by this to get the regular xoom than the
media edition. Motorola has also included virtual surround sound to the
media edition. Overall from all the information that's out there right
now more people may lean towards to the 10 inch xoom over the media
edition due to the better battery life and bigger screen. Once these
devices are released we will know more and definitely which tablet out
of the two is better.
