Siri Protocol Cracked-Requires iPhone 4s UDID To Run
_Mobile
developer Applidium has found out that each Siri request an iPhone 4S
makes involves a unique host identifier that seems to be based on the
hardware UDID, this also prevents unotherised devices from sending
requests to apple servers. Applidium has reported success in copying an
iPhone 4S host identifier into requests sent from other devices.
Applidium’s discovery helps to indicate that any iPhone should be able
to support at least Siri’s basic voice recognition features, But apple
has indicated that they don’t have any plans to release features of Siri
to older devices such as the iPhone 4 or The 3GS. Currently iOS is the
only mobile platform of the three major platforms, that does not offer
system wide voice recognition features.

_This
may setback apple in the world of mobile devices, but hopefully apple
will release some voice recognition features to it’s older devices.
According to Applidium, “anyone cold now write an Android app that uses
the real Siri! Or use Siri on an iPad!” however, in order to access
Siri, users would have to find the unique user key of an actual iPhone
4S and use the key until it expired or was blocked by Apple. This recent
discovery by Applidium could help users port Siri to older devices
since the chances of apple doing it are very slim.
